Why would it require a Russian visa? You are transitting Russia.
Why does it require a Russian visa? You’re just transiting.

Foreign nationals arriving in Belarus via Minsk National Airport can get a visa at the airport. http://www.belarus.by/en/travel/travel-visas

Man, Seriously? Can’t you just appreciate the info? Are you complaining if you get the info for a trip to the USA because you need the ESTA or something like this? Or because it’s not convenient to wait in line at the airport?

Jeremy, Robert is correct in this case. Flights between Belarus and Russia are considered as domestic flights, so a transit visa is obligatory. This is a strange regulation, but it’s true.

I agree with Mikael that people should more appreciate the online sources which do their best to publish fares. Long transfers can be sometimes very useful for a short city trip. I think Robert just wanted to make Europeans (from countries like Germany, Poland, etc.) aware of the visa regulations, and indeed, for people from such countries it might be inconvenient, but this website is for everyone. People from Belarus and Ukraine don’t need a visa to Belarus/Russia, so it’s an excellent deal for them without the need of a Schengen visa. See it from the other perspective 🙂
