The Irish airline Ryanair said it is launching new routes from Belfast, Riga and Naples, while also announcing additional flights on 7 existing routes to Malta!

Ryanair today announced new flights to Malta! Three routes will cover flights between Malta and Riga, Latvia; Belfast, UK and Naples, Italy. Apart from that, more flights to Gdansk, Krakow, Stockholm Skavsta, Venice Treviso, Vilnius and Wroclaw will be added. New flights will begin in October, as part of Ryanair’s winter 2017 schedule which will go on sale soon.

We are delighted to see Ryanair continue to grow from Belfast International Airport with the addition of their fourteenth route since commencement of operations in summer 2016. A new service to Malta is a particularly pleasing development as it has traditionally been a good seller from Northern Ireland, and we believe that its popularity will be even more enhanced given the prevailing strength of the western and central Mediterranean holiday markets.

Belfast International Airport’s Business Development Director, Uel Hoey

New routes:
· 3 new routes: Belfast (2 wkly), Naples (2) and Riga (2)

· Extra flights to: Gdansk (2 wkly), Krakow (2), Stockholm Skavsta (2), Venice Treviso (4), Vilnius (2) & Wroclaw (2)

· 40 routes in total

· 109 weekly flights (+9%)

· 2.2m customers p.a. (+22%)

Ryanair will also continue to connect Malta with major business and leisure centres on high frequency, low fare services including Brussels (daily) and Rome (daily), with better timings and lower fares, making Ryanair the ideal choice for Maltese business and leisure customers, the company said in a statement.

Ryanair’s Malta summer 2017 schedule is attracting record bookings, the company said, with more frequencies to destinations for summer family holidays, lower fares as Ryanair passes on lower fuel costs, and an even better customer experience, as it continues to roll out its “Always Getting Better” improvements.
