Say hello to the stunning landscapes of South America! We’ve just found amazingly cheap flights to Chile with Qantas! You may fly to Santiago for Christmas from just AU$931 round trip. The number of travel dates is very limited.

Santiago, the capital of Chile, has a lot to offer to the visitors. With many museums, theaters, restaurants and other entertainment opportunities, it is also the cultural center of the country. You can get round many of Santiago’s attractions on foot in 2-3 days. A sightseeing should include a visit to the Palacio de la Moneda, Plaza de Armas, the excellent Museo Chileno de Arte Precolombino and the evocative Museo Colonial, followed by a climb up Cerro Santa Lucía. After that you can have lunch at the colourful mercados Central or La Vega.

The central location in the country makes Santiago a great base for visiting other areas. It’s even possible to ski in the nearby Andes and visit the beach in the same day. After visiting Santiago head to Torres del Paine National Park in Chilean Patagonia which is known for its splendid blue glaciers and three tower mountains the park takes its name from. And, of course, do not forget that Chile is the country of good wines! There are plenty of world class wineries in each region waiting to offer you exquisite local wine tasting.

High season in Chile starts in November and lasts until February. April brings fall foliage in the south. Wine country has grape harvests and wine festivals in March.
