Have the ultimate snow experience in the Japanese Alps with these cheap fares to Japan! Jetstar is running a great sale on flights from various cities in Australia to Tokyo and Sapporo from just AU$429 round trip in high peak ski season!

Japan is a world class ski and snowboard destination with over 500 ski resorts across the country – from the northern island of Hokkaido to the southern main island of Kyushu. The Japanese Alps is a series of mountain ranges in which bisect the main island of Honshu. If you want to go skiing or snowboarding from Tokyo, there’s a couple of small resorts on Mount Fuji. You also should consider visiting the most easily accessible and most popular resorts in the Yuzawa region of Niigata Prefecture, which can be reached in only 90 minutes by shinkansen.

For the majority of ski resorts, the season starts around mid to late December and goes through until late March or early April. The average snow depth in Japan is over 2.5 metres and the average snowfall for the season is over 14 metres. You can enjoy the hi-tech and high speed lifts and gondolas, high quality snow and stunning scenery! After skiing, relax and soothe your muscles in ‘onsen’ – the hot spring with geothermal waters.
