Cheap flights from Amsterdam, Netherlands to Kathmandu, Nepal for only €410 return with Qatar Airways!
Few countries are so immediately connected to one of their attractions as Nepal. France has Eiffel Tower and the USA have the Statue of Liberty but none of these has the impressiveness of the word’s highest mountain – Mount Everest. No wonder Nepal is such a popular place for climbers and trekkers in search for an adventure of a lifetime. But even if you are not a mountain-type person the region offers you a never-ending role of activities and attractions where you can immerse yourself in the country’s unique history and culture. You can explore the Kathmandu Valley listed as a World Heritage site by UNESCO, see the buddhist temple of Swayambhunath, walk the streets of the lake city of Pokhara and visit stunning Natural Parks and Reserves with an unique and diverse fauna and flora that help make Nepal a fantastic destination!
Kathmandu Valley
In the spring of 2015, the northwestern area of Nepal has been heavily damaged by a series of massive earthquakes. The disaster has devastated many monuments and sites, including 691 historic buildings, of which 131 fully collapsed. Tourism numbers were down 65% in 2015. The World Heritage site of Kathmandu Valley was heavily affected. Boudhanath, the largest stupa in Nepal and the holiest Tibetan Buddhist temple outside Tibet, had cracked during the earthquake.
After over one year Nepal is back to normal life and ready to welcome travelers. UNESCO continues to carry forward initiatives that will ensure monuments return to their splendour. The temples in the capital of Nepal and its surrounding towns are being slowly rebuilt. It is always a good time to go to Nepal and even more after the earthquake. The major tourist attractions start to revive, but still the country is lacking the usual tourist rush and it’s magically quiet there. This is the time when Nepalese are desperate for tourist money and need all the possible help to repair their crippled economy. We can do it by visiting this amazing country. So if you are making travel plans, why not for Nepal?
