The largest national park outside of Alaska, Death Valley boasts mountain-size sand dunes, below-sea-level salt flats, mysterious singing rocks, and colourful sandstone canyons. Joshua Tree National Park is famous for rugged mountains, gold mining ruins and desert plains dotted with boulders and yucca palm trees. Pinnacles National Park is home to cliffs and cave formations that were formed by an ancient volcano. You can also discover the Channel Islands off the Southern California, accessible only by private boat.
Yosemite is a UNESCO World Heritage site, known for its plunging waterfalls and glacier-sculpted granite cliffs. It features unforgettable natural beauty, from massive rocks, valleys and clear streams to giant sequoia groves. The Redwood is another UNESCO-listed national park, where giant sequoias line up like living skyscrapers. You'll also find them in the Sequoia National Park.
