Explore the series of natural limestone bridges in Xiannüshan Town. This precious eco-system site is famous for the karst topography. These stunning natural stone formations were formerly caves until the ground collapsed, leaving sinkholes and the breathtaking arches. From a car park on the rim, a glass elevator descends part way into the gorge. A wander beneath the three magnificent natural stone arch bridges takes about two hours.
In Chinese, the bridges are all named after dragons: Tianlong (Sky Dragon), Qinglong (Azure Dragon) and Heilong (Black Dragon). They are the only such group of karst structures in the world. Spanning the Yangshui River, these calcite formations lie within the Wulong Karst National Geology Park, itself a part of UNESCO World Heritage Site. It protects the gorge, as well as waterfalls and caves.
