The most ancient cuisine in the South Caucasus
Indulge in the delicious local dishes. Lamb, eggplant, cracked wheat (bulgur) and bread (lavash) are basic features of the traditional cuisine. Legumes are used extensively, especially chick peas, lentils, white beans, and kidney beans. Herbs are also added liberally, both in the food and as accompaniments.
Typical dishes in Armenian cuisine include harissa (a porridge made of wheat and meat), khash (a dense soup of beef or lamb), and dolma (minced meat wrapped by grape leaves). Delight your taste buds with exquisite fruit flavoured wines. Don't forget to drink the famous Armenian coffee.
