The Andamans are blessed with wonderful sandy beaches, crystal clear waters and lush green forests. The amazing islands are one of the most remote spots on the planet.

Andaman and Nicobar are a large group of nearly 600 islands, of which only 9 are open to foreign tourists. The Andaman Islands are part of the territory of India, while a small number in the north of the archipelago belong to Myanmar.

How to get there:
Take a look at the flight deals to Andaman Islands:

Where to stay:
In Neil Island you can consider staying at 3* Coconhuts Beach Resort with a good price and breakfast included! Set in Neil Island, this well-rated resort offers accommodation with a private beach area. The property features a bar, as well as a restaurant. The accommodation features a 24-hour front desk.

In Port Blair we recommend you to book 3* Sunnyvale Andaman with breakfast included. This top rated hotel offers accommodation with free Wi-Fi. Free private parking is available on site. All units at the home-stay feature Split Air Conditioning and a satellite 32″ flat-screen TV. There is a fully equipped private bathroom with bath and free toiletries. A halal breakfast can be enjoyed in the breakfast area. A car rental service is available at Sunnyvale Andaman.

What to do:
Aside from some helicopter shuttles and a seaplane service to Havelock Island, passenger ferries are the only way to get between the Andamans. Prior to going to one of the islands, non-Indians have to get a Restricted Area Permit (issued on arrival at the Port Blair airport).

Most people come to this paradise archipelago for the scuba diving. Havelock Island, the Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park and South Cinque Island are the main dive destinations. There is also a wreck dive south of North Brother Island. The best diving conditions are from mid-January until mid-May.

You can also indulge in other water sports, like sea walking, kayaking or swimming. The best spots for snorkelling are Jolly Buoy, North Bay, Mua Terra Beach and Havelock Island.

Enjoy the underwater coral view from the glass bottom boat, rent a water scooter or go game fishing.

Go jungle hiking and wildlife watching. Enclosed by thick forests and dense mangroves, the Chidiya Tapu Island is a wonderful trekking destination.

On Barren Island you’ll find India’s only active volcano.

Narcondam Island, classified as a dormant volcano, offers some spectacular volcanic diving.

See the mud volcano or explore the limestone caves of Baratang Island.

Explore the abandoned residential structures and old houses in the Ross Island, overtaken by the plants.

Rutland Island is the ideal place for eco-tourists. In this pristine, non-polluted and least visited island you can discover mangrove forest and coral reefs.

The Long Island can be enjoyed by nature lovers. Spend the night in one of the eco huts. In this unspoiled island you can explore the forests and beaches or go snorkelling.

Little Andaman is popular for surfing. The wind and waves in this island are the only ones that support this activity in the Andamans. The perfect time to surf is from November to February.
