Canada’s east coast offers visitors warm hospitality and incredible beauty. In this region you can witness the incredible power of Mother Nature, enjoy picturesque countryside and visit charming, elegant cities with historic architecture. As the federal government is providing free entry into national parks in 2017, this is the last chance to explore the natural attractions of Canada at no cost!
The eastern region of Canada includes the six provinces (New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island and Quebec), that are incredibly diverse. Originally settled as part of New France, French-speaking Quebec is culturally distinct from the rest of Canada. Atlantic Provinces are known for history, natural beauty and a huge fishing and shipping industry. Ontario is Canada’s most populous province, famous for cosmopolitan cities, as well as Niagara Falls.
Visit North America’s most powerful waterfall to see 168,000 cubic metres of water (84-million 2-litre bottles!) flowing over the crest of the falls every minute. Admire the thundering magnificence of this world-famous natural wonder, which consists of three waterfalls (the Horseshoe Falls, the American Falls and the Bridal Veil Falls). Canada shares this natural wonder with the USA — one third of Niagara Falls is on the American side of the border.
Discover Niagara-on-the-Lake with quaint local shops and a charming atmosphere. Board a boat to experience Niagara Falls up-close.
