What to do:
East Coast, with the capital city of Dublin, is the heartland of the country. In Dublin you can explore the National Museum of Ireland, the National Gallery of Ireland, the Irish Museum of Modern Art and the Pearse Museum. All state museums in Ireland are free of charge.

West Ireland is home to “Ireland’s Cultural Heart” of Galway. The city is renowned for its vibrant lifestyle and numerous festivals, celebrations and events. Explore the Brigit’s Celtic Garden, located just a 20-minute drive north of Galway city.

Northwest and Lakelands region has a lot to offer by way of natural beauty. Pay a visit to The Glen, a tiny valley nestled between sheer rock walls of Knocknarea Mountain.

Southwest Ireland is a scenic and rainy section of Ireland with a beautiful coast and popular Ring of Kerry (Iveragh Peninsula). The cosmopolitan Southeast Ireland is famous for its Waterford crystal.

Sail to the remote and wild island of Skellig Michael (Sceilg Mhichíl) to see its perfectly preserved ancient monastery. This monastic complex, that became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996, perched since about the 7th century on the steep sides of the rocky island, some 12 km off the coast of south-west Ireland. Skellig Michael was the setting for the movie ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’.

Explore the Aran Islands to admire the beautiful scenery. This rocky archipelago of three small islands boasts incredible stone forts that have stood there for thousands of years.

Discover the Dunmore Cave, said to have been the site of a Viking massacre that claimed 1,000 lives. Visit the unusual Victor’s Way Indian Sculpture Park to see its bizarre sculptures. See the Drombeg Stone Circle, one of the most popular megalithic sites in Ireland.

You can also go horse riding or play golf. Explore the walking trails of Wicklow Hills or go mountain biking.
