What to do in Lanzarote:
Trace the Route of the Volcanoes and hike by lava flows. See the dramatic red rocks of the Fire Mountains or take a camel ride to the summit. You can also rock climb, abseil or hang glide. Immerse yourself in the unique vineyards of La Geria to sample some organic wine. For science lovers, a simulation of a volcano erupting in the interpretive centre in Mancha Blanca is a must. Culture enthusiasts should go to a concert in the volcanic cave. The musical season of Cueva de los Verdes begins in October.

Lanzarote is full of secluded coves and perfect spots for fantastic surf and scuba diving. There are also great opportunities for wind surfing, kite boarding and other water activities. Relax in one of the gold sand Papagayo beaches, sheltered by cliffs in a protected area of the Monumento Natural de Los Ajaches. Visit Mirador del Rio that offers incredible views of La Graciosa Island. Take a boat trip to the Chinijo marine reserve to enjoy Lanzarote’s sea life. Don’t forget to have a refreshing dip in one of the spectacular natural pools, like Los Charcones or Punta Mujeres.

What to do in Fuerteventura:
Bring walking boots and climb the 300 metres up the Montaña Roja (Red Mountain) volcano to enjoy the incredible view of Lanzarote and La Graciosa. Then recline upon the powdery sand in one of the paradise beaches and swim in the crystal clear waters of the ocean. Enjoy a relaxing excursion at sea and get a chance to snorkel or scuba-dive. You can also visit the nature reserve of Isla de Lobos or paddle a kayak into the ocean. “Fuerteventura” means “strong wind”, which naturally makes it a great place for kitesurfing, windsurfing and surfing. In La Playa del Burro, a beach situated in the dunes of Corralejo, each year you can watch how hundreds of multi-coloured kites fill the sky at the International Kite Festival, that is usually held on the weekend nearest to the 8th of November.

Take a jeep, quad or a dune buggy ride and explore white-sand beaches, rugged cliffs or a volcanic crater. Rent a car or a bike and head to Mirador de Fenduca (Degollada de los Granadillos) in the Rio Palma Valley to see the old dam built in the 1930. Enjoy the view across the oldest part of the Canary Islands. On a clear day you will even see Gran Canaria. The viewpoint is also the best place to meet the wild chipmunks.
