Where to stay:
In Mexico City we recommend you to book 4* Hotel Gillow. This top rated 4-star hotel was founded in 1875 and it is located in the heart of the historic centre and just 300 m away from the Metropolitan Cathedral. Guests can enjoy the on-site restaurant with room service. The rooms are spacious and come with a flat-screen TV. All rooms also have a private bathroom equipped with a bath or jacuzzi. You will find a 24-hour front desk at the property. Hotel Gillow is 500 m from Bellas Artes. Mexico City International Airport is 5 km from the property.

It offers a fitness centre and air-conditioned rooms with free Wi-Fi and cable TV. The Fiesta Inn Toluca Centro’s restaurant serves traditional Mexican food. There is also a lobby bar. Toluca’s business district is around 10 minutes’ drive from the Fiesta Inn. You can drive to Toluca Airport in 20 minutes.

What to do:
With its art, gastronomy and unique culture, Mexico City is an exciting destination. Popular activities include exploring the cultural institutions like the National Palace presidential residence and the Palace of Fine Arts.

If you get the chance, take in a performance in the theatre of Palacio de Bellas Artes.

You can also visit Chapultepec Forest (Bosque de Chapultepec). Centred on a rock formation called Chapultepec Hill, it was a sacred place for Aztecs. Enjoy the view from the top of the hill, at a height of 2,325 meters (7,628 ft) above sea level. In the middle of the park there is the Chapultepec Castle.

From October 31st to November 2nd, you can take part in Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead). During this cross-cultural festival, the Mexican people celebrate their loved ones who have passed on. Residents walk along the streets with skull-painted faces. The families visit the graves of their departed loved ones and enjoy a picnic in the cemetery. Gravesites are decorated with flowers and adorned with offerings of food, cigarettes and alcoholic beverages.
