What to do:
Tunisia is not just a place for vacations, it is a perfect destination for outdoor activities. One of the best adventures available is horseback riding.

Head out to the Sahara Desert for a camel ride, off-road jeep ride and under-the-stars sleepover.

Discover the leftover “Star Wars” sets, like Matmata and Sidi Bouhlel. The second location was also featured in other famous movies, such as “Raiders of the Lost Ark” and “The English Patient”.

Go shopping in one of the famous souks. Within the walls of the Medina in Tunis, you’ll find a bustling market, full of local ceramics, leatherwork, and metalwork.

Beach lovers should make a trip to Hammamet, Tunisia’s top sun-and-sea resort. You can sunbathe on the soft, white sand beside a bright blue Mediterranean Sea. Monastir is another major tourist resort on the central coast of Tunisia. Skanes is known mostly for its professional golf courses, sandy beaches and clear blue sea.

Take a trip to El Djem to see one of the best preserved amphitheatres on the world. Check out an underground part which showcases the tunnels that were once the home of gladiators.

Hiking enthusiasts will enjoy the picturesque scenery of the Mountain Oasis, with waterfalls, streams and palm trees.

Discover the ruins of ancient Carthage, founded in the 9th century B.C.

Explore the 15th-century Ksar Ouled Soltane in Tataouine – the fortifications built completely of dry mud.

Pay a visit to Kairouan, regarded as the fourth most important holy city for Muslims. Founded in 670, this ancient mosque is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
