What to do:
Major draws of Uganda are gorilla safaris, chimpanzee tracking in Kyambura Gorge, gazing at majestic lions on the savannah, trekking the Rwenzori Mountains and visiting the source of the Nile River.

You can experience some of Uganda’s top wildlife locations by safari vehicle, by boat and on foot. This country is one of the few places in the world where it is possible to see chimpanzees alongside lion, elephant, rhino, leopard, and buffalo.

Boat cruise is probably the most popular activity in the Queen Elizabeth National Park. Explore the Kazinga Channel, a 32-kilometre (20 mi) long natural channel that links Lake Edward and Lake George. Indulge in some of the best bird watching in Africa with over 1000 different species.

See the hippos in their natural environment, spot tree-climbing lions and other wildlife, discover explosion craters and Lake Edward.

Head to a tea plantation to experience the effort that goes into tea production. You can also take a coffee tour to learn about coffee farming, processing and roasting.

Spot reintroduced white rhinos on a walking safari at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.

In eastern Uganda you can enjoy superb trekking close on the border with Kenya.

Take a nature walk in Bigodi Swamp or a boat ride in Lake Mburo National Park.

Trek up the Virunga Volcanoes, climb the snow-capped Rwenzori Mountains or learn ancient tribal traditions and crafts.
