Best Beaches in the Dominican Republic
Picture a white sand beach, palm trees gently swaying the wind, and crystal blue water stretching as far as the eye can see. This view is synonymous with the Dominican Republic. From secluded shorelines to bustling party beaches, there’s plenty of choice. The most beautiful stretch of beach in the Punta Cana area is undoubtedly Bavaro Beach. The calm Caribbean waters are perfect for swimming. Juanillo Beach, recognized for its wide sands, is relatively quiet. It has a relaxed vibe but still offers a good selection of food and drink, and activities including volleyball, kayaking and horseback riding.
For safe swimming somewhere more secluded, try Playa Rincon on the Samana Peninsula. This undeveloped and remote beach can be reached by a 30-minute boat ride from the town of Las Galeras, or by a 30-minute drive. Playa Macao and Playa Bahoruco are popular with surfers.
