Central Park is one of the most iconic spots in Manhattan. It is home to Belvedere Castle, the Central Park Zoo, Strawberry Fields, the Lake, Alice in Wonderland statue, playgrounds and many other attractions. There are plenty of outdoor activities to entertain visitors, like rowboat rentals, carriage rides, catch and release fishing or summer concerts. Relax in the Great Lawn or walk along the paths throughout the park. Central Park boasts 6 miles (9,65 km) of paved roads open only to joggers, bicyclists and skateboarders. In winter, you can go ice skating across Wollman Rink.
The High Line, abandoned elevated railway turned into urban park, can be found on the west side of Manhattan. This 1.45-mile-long (2.33 km) linear park, built on a disused viaduct, has become an icon of contemporary landscape architecture. The High Line is open daily from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM. You can also find a secluded oasis in The Elevated Acre. This tiny park is one of Manhattan’s most relaxing secrets.
