In north-western Slovenia you should visit Bled Lake, located in a picturesque environment, surrounded by the Julian Alps and forests. This enchanting lake is of mixed glacial and tectonic origin. It has a small island of Blejski Otok, with several buildings, the main one being the 15th-century Assumption of Mary Pilgrimage Church.
