Mountains
Poland is a nature-lover's dreamland. 10 out of 23 national parks in this country are located in the mountains. Go to Zakopane to visit the Tatras - the highest mountains between the Alps and Caucasus. Numerous resorts in the south of Poland attract skiers and hikers. Valleys, pastures, forests and mountain lakes can be found in this section of the Carpathians.
Jura Krakowsko-Częstochowska and Pieniny Mountains both consist of amazing limestone and dolomite rock formations. You can go rafting in the Dunajec River Gorge. Karpacz is a nice ski resort in the Karkonosze Mountains of southwestern Poland. Table Mountains (Góry Stołowe) are characterized by unique plated rock formations. Bieszczady, near the Ukrainian border, are smaller mountains covered with thick forests and meadows. It's the perfect place to relax in peace and quiet.
