Iran launches e-visas for foreign visitors!

OT | 24 Jan 2017 11:30 | Liu Yang | Comments: 2

Iran has launched an electronic system through which nationals from 180 counties around the world can obtain a tourist visa. The much-awaited online facility enables visitors to apply for an Iranian visa within few minutes.

Iran has introduced an official e-visa web portal, making it easier for travellers to obtain a visa prior to arrival. This decision was taken after taking into consideration the increasing number of foreign tourists arriving in Iran in the past years.

Citizens from all countries, except for those from the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Jordan, Somalia, Colombia, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh and India, are eligible to use the service.

To secure a visa at home, visit the official e-visa website >>

Electronic visas will be issued at the Imam Khomeini and Mehrabad International Airports in Tehran, as well as the international airports in Shiraz, Tabriz, Urmia and Mashad. The visa on arrivals will remain valid for a period of 3 months from the date of issue.

Citizens of Azerbaijan, Bolivia, Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Georgia, Armenia, Venezuela, Egypt and Malaysia can travel to Iran without the obligation to apply for a visa.

Iran, home to an ancient civilisation, has a lot on offer for tourists. If you are planning on visiting this country, go to Destination Fly4free: Iran >>>

Electronically submitting your online application is only the first step in the visa application process. Once you have electronically submitted your online visa application, you must contact the embassy or consulate at which you wish to apply to confirm whether you need to be interviewed by a consular officer, and to schedule an interview. You can find a list of Islamic Republic of IRAN embassies and consulates on minstry of foreign affairs website. If the embassy or consulate at which you apply informs that you must have a visa interview, the visa application process cannot be completed until you appear for an interview with a consular officer.
After you have completed online visa application, you must take these next steps below:

Just get the visa on arrival… sounds like a waste of time otherwise.
