4* Turkish Airlines are offering a nice opportunity to explore Kazakhstan! Book cheap flights from Riga or Vilnius to Nur-Sultan (Astana) or Almaty from only €223 for a roundtrip! Late Summer, Xmas and NYE dates available from Vilnius!
Kazakhstan is extremely diversified country! You’ll find there boundless prairies, picturesque mountains, spectacular valleys of Tian Shan as well as new modern cities.
The Sharyn Canyon, located in the Sharyn National Park, has been described as the Grand Canyon's little brother. Erosion made by the river Charyn has created an impressive landscape, called the Valley of Castles, due to the pillars and rock formations. The Canyon is approximately 150 km long, and up to 300 meters deep.
Explore the spectacular high mountain lakes Kolsai and Kaindy, situated in the beautiful gorges covered by forests of the Tian Shan fir tree. The Kaindy Lake was formed as a result of an enormous limestone landslide, triggered by the devestating earthquake in 1911. For scenic views, you can also visit Canyon Zhabyr (Yellow Canyon), Coloured Mountains (Kiin-Kerish), Altyn-Emel semi-desert or Aksu-Jabagly natural reserve.
