Relax in sunny Cape Verde!
Thomson is selling out affordable peak summer non-stop flights from London to Sal from only £181 for a roundtrip!
Cape Verde is an archipelago consisting of 10 volcanic islands – Boa Vista, Sal, Maio, and others scattered in the central Atlantic Ocean.
Fogo – The Volcanic Island
Fly from Praia or Sal to São Filipe Airport on Fogo island. Fogo means fire. Rising sheer from the ocean to a height of 2829 metres, the volcanic mountain of Pico de Fogo dominates the island’s landscape as the highest elevation of Cape Verde. The active volcano has created a unique landscape best explored on foot or horseback. You can hike up to the rim from the little town of Chã das Caldeiras or drive up a hairpin, cobbled road into the crater where you can spend a Spartan night in local accommodation. Don’t forget to taste the wine that comes from the nearby vineyards. Visit the historic town São Filipe and buy the famous coffee of Fogo.
