Wow! Take the once-in-a-life opportunity to fly over and around the North Pole! Get onboard special airberlin >> sightseeing flight from Berlin and fly over Spitsbergen, North Pole and Greenland and back from only €499!!

On the way to the pole, you may expect to overfly Svalbard, better known as Spitsbergen, in cruising altitude. It will depend on ad-hoc ATC permission whether it will be possible to fly a bit lower. In case of good weather, you can expect interesting views even from higher altitudes.

The route continues towards the 90°N North pole position where you’ll circumnavigate the world twice – in both directions (subject to ATC overflight approval from all countries concerned, incl. Russia). At the present location, you will be just as close to Alaska as to the North Cape of Norway. The distance to Northern Canada is only 750 kilometres from here, you are much closer to the American continent now than to Europe.

After having overflown the pole, you continue towards Eastern Greenland and might be able to see parts of its coastline. On some of our previous flights it was possible to overfly the coastline of eastern Greenland, and sights were always spectacular.
All in all, you will spend about five hours in the polar region, offering you the most spectacular and unforgettable views.

The described routing is subject to wind and weather conditions and the necessary ATC permissions which are always ad-hoc. Anyway, the pilot has several planned routings to choose from to grant best viewing opportunities. Thus, in any case, the captain and the ops department of airberlin will do their best to get permissions from the ATC of up to 8 different countries to fly the best possible route.
