Ryanair is adding new destinations to its Malta summer 2018 schedule! In order to operate new and additional routes, the Irish airline will add another aircraft based in Malta. The carrier’s plans were announced during a press conference this morning by David O’Brien, Ryanair Chief Commercial Officer.
Ryanair has just announced its Malta summer 2018 schedule. The new routes will cover flights to Barcelona and Seville in Spain, Naples and Pescara in Italy and Aberdeen in Scotland. Flights to Baltic states include Tallinn in Estonia and Riga in Latvia. The budget airline will also operate new services to Porto, Belfast, Paris, Bratislava and Gothenburg. Ryanair will add more flights to Madrid and Venice Treviso (3 to 4 weekly).
What is more, the airline’s fleet based in the island will be increased to five aircraft from next year. Ryanair also announced that commercial talks with Air Malta are underway. The airlines are considering future collaboration on ticket sales, connection flights and marketing initiatives. Malta’s national airline could end up selling tickets on Ryanair’s website. Thanks to codesharing, passengers could travel from Europe to African destinations, including the route from Malta to Tunisia and vice versa!
