Ryanair is launching 13 new routes between Athens and many European destinations. What is more, the carrier will reinstate flights to Chania on Crete in the 2018 summer season.

The budget carrier has announced that from May 2017 it will operate 13 new routes from Athens to destinations in Poland, Germany, Lithuania, Denmark and Finland. What is more, the airline’s fleet based in the capital of Greece will be increased to five aircraft. The new schedule will also include 5 new routes from/to Thessaloniki and additional routes from/to Mykonos, Corfu, Crete, Rhodes, Kefalonia and Santorini.

Ryanair recently cut its winter routes by 30 percent in Greece. The company reduced its winter presence in Greece due to high airport costs.

“We are cutting back in the winter and growing in the summer,” said David O’Brien, Ryanair Chief Commercial Officer.
