Once the capital of Moldova, the Romanian city of Suceava is located in the Bucovina region and is an excellent starting point for outdoor’s lovers trip or a ski break in one of the different ski resorts not so far from the city . Around 90 km, the most famous is the ski resort is Rarau – Campulung Moldovenesc while the highest and largest one, with up to 6 kilometres of slopes, is the Vatra Dornei resort.
Other options for the wildlife and hike lovers are the Rodnei Mountains Chain or the Calimani National Park. The first one is the second largest national park in Romania and some of the wildest landscapes of the Carpathians Mountains: caves, glacial lakes and exciting hikes or horseback riding activities are waiting for you! As well as wildife: brown bear, rare birds and linxs. Also in the Rodnei National park you can find 2 different ski resorts: the Prislop and the Cascada Cailor.
The town itself of Suceava also offers some beautiful attractions to its visitors like the Saint George’s Church, a UNESCO World Heritage site, the Putna Monastery, the Bucovina Ethnographic Museum and the remains of the Princely Court.
