The Scottish regional airline Loganair is selling cheap flights from Westray to Papa Westray in Orkney for just €16 / £14 round trip! The route is the shortest scheduled passenger flight in the world!
The 2.7km (1.7-mile) route between Westray and Papa Westray in Orkney is a short hop between two remote islands Scotland’s north-east coast. It’s is listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the shortest scheduled flight in the world.
The connection is used by teachers, doctors, policemen and school pupils. The flight, in an eight-seater Britten Norman Islander aircraft, is officially scheduled for one and a half minutes but actual flying time is closer to one minute. The record for the fastest flight is 53 seconds!
