Wizz Air baggage policy: New restrictions on cabin luggage!

OT | 24 Aug 2018 12:25 | Luis | Comments: 10

Yesterday we informed you about new Ryanair baggage policy. Today Wizz Air has just launched a new cabin luggage policy.

Only passengers with WIZZ Priority will be able to bring their hand luggage into the cabin, due to limited space on board. Passengers may travel with ONE free piece of hand luggage (maximum size 55 x 40 x 23 cm).

If you purchase WIZZ priority, you can take your hand luggage into the cabin (55 x 40 x 23 cm) and one additional small bag (40 x 30 x 18 cm).

If you don’t purchase WIZZ Priority and your hand luggage exceeds 40 x 30 x 18 cm, you must check it in at the check-in desk free of charge and you can collect it at the baggage belt at the arrival airport. If your hand luggage is smaller than 40 x 30 x 18 cm, you may can take it into the cabin but it must be placed under the seat.

Laptops and  portable electronic devices must be taken with you into the cabin.

We recommend that all passengers take their essentials into the cabin (such as personal hygiene items, passports and other documentation) and valuable items, such as jewellery, phones, cameras, etc.

Problem with checkin in that they’ll weight your luggage and if more than allowed charge you a lot

Not really a coincidence.. the policy changed a few months ago. 1 day before I had a flight with them 🙂

Fly4Free just “heating” the air with this title.
The quoted “new” Wizz air baggage policy, is actually from months ago.

OK, what is about passengers who already took the tickets few weeks ago and there were the other conditions for hand luggage?

What if I check-in my bigger baggage at the desk and then take a small one to the plane? Then I travel with two bags without a need to buy a wizz priority. Or am I missing something?

Passengers without priority already to tag their hand luggage at the gate, so the only difference is that you are now forced to leave it at the bag drop desk. But they still allow the “large” cabin bags for free. Not a big deal.
