Wizzair has (also) raised its priority boarding and luggage fees!

EU | 19 Jan 2019, 10:10 | João | 3

Just days after Ryanair, Wizzair also increased the luggage fees and the price for priority boarding passengers!

Wizzair announced on August 24th, 2018 that, from November, non-priority customers could only bring 1 free (small) carry-on bag – there would be no free gate bags.

According to airline’s policy, if non-priority customers wanted to bring a 2nd bigger (wheelie) bag, they could buy a lower cost 10kg check bag from €7-€12 at time of booking. As of today, to buy a 10kg checked bag, customers must pay from €9 to €27 depending of the route, the date of travel (low or high season) and how it was bought (online, call center, airport)

The same applies to priority boarding fees: Previously Wizzair charged its customers prices between €5 and €12 or €25 at the airport. Now, any passenger wanting to book priority boarding must pay between €5 and €17 or €25 if booked at the airport.

I agree. Easyjet now overtake Ryanair unless your going somewhere where a small backpack is enough. Hopefully they can rectify their stance like Asian airlines that still allow small carry ons albeit 7kg.
