With its typical stone houses built around vine-draped winding courtyards, Tbilisi offers a unique Mediterranean atmosphere contaminated with ancient eastern decadence. But Tbilisi is also the “taste capital” of Georgia. Don’t miss out honey and cheese delicatessen and be sure to taste cognac and grappa, so widespread in the city!
This scenic country offers many opportunities for active exploration. The village of Ushguli is recognised as the highest settlement in Europe, set at an altitude of 2,410 metres (7,910 ft) above sea level. It is guarded by snow-capped Mount Shkhara, the highest point in Georgia (5,068 meters / 16,627 ft).
