Lago Enriquillo
Go off-the-beaten-track to the largest lake and the lowest elevation in the entire Caribbean. Lago Enriquillo is an hypersaline lake that covers 375 square kilometres.
A very diverse and interesting wildlife inhabits the lake and surrounding areas. Among them, there are beautiful pink flamingos, iguanas and hundreds of bird species. It is also home to the largest population of American crocodiles living free in their natural habitat in the Caribbean. There are more than 400 species in its waters.
