Madidi National Park that stretches from the Andes deep into the Amazon is known as one the most biologically diverse places on the planet. Noel Kempff Mercado National Park includes a large section of the Huanchaca Plateau and surrounding lowlands. It is home to more than 130 species of mammals (e.g. tapirs, spider and howler monkeys, pumas and black jaguars), and more than 70 species of reptiles, including the black caiman. You can cruise along the Iténez river to see pink river dolphins, hike along beautiful trails or set off on a night walk, looking out for the nocturnal animals. Go to the stunning 80-metre high El Enchanto waterfall and splash in the spectacular Feerico Ahlfeld or Arco Iris waterfalls.
