Agadir is best-known for its beaches. In this modern city the sun shines for more than 300 days a year which makes the city the most popular seaside region in the country. From Agadir you can drive to the north beaches in Auorir and Tamraght or head south to Legzira beach, near Sidi Ifni. Morocco's best-known natural wonder boasted two impressive rock archways, formed by thousands of years of erosion. But now there is only one left. Unfortunately, on 23rd of September 2016 the second iconic arches collapsed, washed by Atlantic waves. A massive pile of red rubble now sits where the famous rock structure used to stand. The larger arch still remains standing further along the beach.
