The land of midnight sun and stunning northern lights is rich in spectacular landscapes, like deep fjords, snow-capped mountain peaks and glaciers. From wildlife watching to dog-sledding, Norway offers visitors an incredible mix of attractions.
Fjords
Geirangerfjord, a UNESCO World Heritage Site located north of Ålesund, boasts some of the country's most spectacular views. Numerous cruises are available, but if you're driving, be sure to take the winding Eagles' Road with great viewpoints.
While in Stavanger, you can head to Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock), a massive rectangular cliff that rises 604 m above Lysefjord. If you're fit, you can take a 23 km trail to Trolltunga (Troll's Tongue), which starts above Tyssedal, in small village Skjeggedal. This iconic rock sticks out of a vertical mountain side above a 700 metre (about 2,300 feet) drop.
