Famous for its soft coral diving, white sand beaches and pristine natural environment Fiji is a leader in eco-tourism. It’s an archipelago of more than 332 islands, of which 110 are permanently inhabited. Nadi is located on the west coast of the main island of Viti Levu – the largest island in the Republic of Fiji. The eastern side of the island experiences heavy rainfall, while the western side is noticeably drier. Fiji receives nearly the same amount of visitors (about 630,000 annually) as the rest of the South Pacific combined but it still feels wild and exotic. Viti Levu, the Mamanuca and Yasawa Islands have the best beaches and most resorts.
Cape Le Grand National Park features secluded bays, white sand beaches, imposing granite peaks, sweeping heathlands and abundance of colourful wild flowers and native animals. You can encounter grey kangaroos that frequent the beaches and campsites. Whales can be spotted in the ocean in mid-October - November. Stroll along wide beaches and explore the whistling rocks at Thistle Cove. Explore the park's wild reaches on the Le Grand Coastal Trail or hike up Frenchman Peak (262m) to enjoy panoramic views.
Karijini National Park, located in the north-western section of Western Australia, is most notable for its many gorges that provide spectacular displays of the rock layers. You'll find there slot canyons, waterfalls and water holes you can swim in. It also offers a variety of arid-land ecosystems. The park's wildlife includes a variety of birds, red kangaroos, rock-wallabies, echidnas, geckos, goannas and several bat species. There are also large termite mounds, scattered throughout the park.
