St. Augustine
Located just few hours north of Orlando, St. Augustine is the oldest continuously inhabited settlement of European origin in the continental United States, dating back to 1565. Stroll along the brick-lined streets and delight in the city's European flavour, with centuries-old buildings built by wealthy pioneers.
The highlight is the Castillo de San Marcos fortress built in the XVII century by the Spanish that settled and controlled the town. It is the oldest masonry and only extant 17th century fort in North America.
